Dr. Derek Tang, DDS
Dr. Derek Tang is passionate about providing the best personalized dental experience, focusing on every patient’s individual needs and goals. He is known for his gentle and comforting chairside manner and specializes in all areas of general dentistry, including aesthetic dentistry, CAD/CAM, CEREC same-day crowns, Invisalign, and dental implants. The highest quality patient care and experience are the pillars Dr. Tang builds his practice on.
Dr. Tang grew up in Cupertino, attended nearby Monta Vista High School, and graduated from the University of California, Davis with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. He also received a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from San Jose State, before continuing on to the University of Utah School of Dentistry for his doctorate in dental surgery, graduating with Honors.
While Dr. Tang formed a strong foundation of knowledge and skills learning from some of the top dentists in the industry at the U of U, he is committed to taking continuing education courses so that he can provide the best care and be on the forefront of new dental technology. Dr. Tang is currently an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Santa Clara Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Having grown up nearby, Dr. Tang is proud to serve patients from all around the Bay Area. Outside of work, he spends his free time with his wife and twin daughters, who keep him on his toes! He also enjoys nature/landscape photography, playing badminton, and as a foodie, loves to try new restaurants in the area.
